While Mother’s Day should be a joyous occasion, it was anything but that for NBA baller Chris Paul and his family. According to an ESPN source, during Game Four of the Western Conference semifinals against the Dallas Mavericks, Chris Paul’s wife Jada and his mother were harassed and assaulted by a Mavericks fan.

The source said a fan pushed Jada, and Chris’ mother, Robin McMenamin, who they also physically attacked.

In addition, Jada was followed up the aisle when she left her seat. To make matters worse, she and Chris’ children reportedly witnessed the harassment, which left his family feeling “very unsafe.”

The Phoenix Sun’s point guard was very upset with the incident and attempted to defend his mother and wife Jada, whom he married in 2011. As the young fan was escorted out of the arena, Chris tried to get close to him and yelled, “I’ll see you later.”
