Rep. Adam Schiff on Sunday stated the January 6 committee examining the riot at the United States Capitol would transfer to hold previous Trump assistant Steve Bannon in criminal contempt for stopping working to abide by a subpoena for info associating with the insurrection.

In reaction, a legal representative for Trump advised his assistants to defy the subpoenas, pointing out “executive and other opportunities” that he stated enable Trump consultants to buck the subpoenas and decline to turn over records.

Robert Costello, a legal representative for Bannon, stated in an October 13 letter to the committee that Bannon was “not in defiance” of the subpoena.
