A wise man once said that we should not regret our past, but learn from it. But people who have something as permanent as tattoos can hardly appreciate this wisdom because some mistakes continue to remind the person who has them all the time.
At Bright Side, we are sure that most people learn from their mistakes, but a famous proverb says, “Look before you leap.”
Melanie Griffith was married to Antonio Banderas for 18 years, but the couple eventually split. Melanie still had a tattoo with her ex-husband’s name on her right bicep.
It’s no surprise that Griffith decided to get rid of the tattoo. At first, she tried to cover it with makeup or clothes, but eventually she removed the ink with the help of a laser treatment.
Kelly Osbourne used to have more than 15 tattoos on her body before. But the celebrity decided that some of them were a mistake and started getting rid of them.
One of the first tattoos she decided to remove was the keyboard on her right forearm.
The singer once got a lips tattoo on her wrist which featured her friend’s pout. According to Demi, she got it just for fun. However, later, she decided to cover it up with a rose tattoo that Demi finds very beautiful.
According to the actress, she regrets 2 of her tattoos: a bow in the middle of her lower back and the flowers in the middle of her neck. She got the flowers when she was 17, and she’s very irritated that she got it.
However, despite the fact that Jessica has had it lasered many times, it’s still not disappearing.
When the singer was in a relationship with Rakim Mayers (his stage name is A$AP Rocky), she got the words “Live Love A$AP,” which was the name of her then-boyfriend’s mixtape, tattooed across the 3 of her fingers.
Later, the couple broke up, and Iggy decided to get rid of the ink. First, she got it covered up with another tattoo, but eventually got it removed.
The tattoo on Ariana Grande’s palm became the subject of many online discussions. To celebrate the release of her song 7 Rings, the singer got a tattoo featuring Japanese characters, which were supposed to be translated as the name of the song. But Ariana’s fans noticed there was a mistake in the tattoo. In Japanese, the characters could be translated as “a small barbecue grill.”
Ariana agreed that she had made a mistake because she studied Japanese herself. She tried to get her tattoo corrected, but it didn’t work out.
After tying the knot with Ryan Sweeting, the actress decided to get their wedding date in Roman numerals tattooed on her back. But the couple divorced, and Kaley decided to get it covered up with a moth.
The actress revealed that she regretted this date tattoo. She joked that the moth design was the first thing she picked out at the tattoo salon. But she also said that she liked the fact that moths are drawn to light, which she said is symbolic for her.
Nicole regrets a few of her tattoos, including the cross on the small of her back and “Richie” on her neck, which she got at 19. According to the actress, she’s only gotten her cross tattoo removed so far.
The singer has the portrait of his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez tattooed on his wrist, which he still can’t get rid of properly. Justin says that he tried to cover her face up with some shading, but people still recognize it.
As a teenager, the singer got a tattoo of 6 Chinese characters, and she regrets it now. This is what Nicki says about it, “You have no idea what you want to put on your body at the age of 16. You need to wait until at least 21 and decide.”
In the 1990s, Mark Wahlberg sported 2 tattoos on his biceps. One was a portrait of Bob Marley, and the other was his initials and last name. The actor once said that these tattoos were important to him, but in the 2000s, he got them removed.
According to him, he didn’t want his kids to get tattoos. Besides, he didn’t like spending hours in the makeup chair on set while they tried to cover them up.
After splitting with her husband Tony Parker, Eva Longoria still had a few tattoos which reminded her of him. They were their wedding date inked on her wrist, a “nine” on the back of her neck (which stood for Parker’s jersey number), and Parker’s initials tattooed in a more hidden area.
A few years ago, the actress got them all removed, and advised against getting tattoos because the removal process can be very painful.
Jessie often wears high-waisted clothes to cover the tattoo on her side, which she really regrets. The fact is that she got a line from her song tattooed, but it was misspelled.
It was supposed to be “Don’t lose who are you in the blur of the stars,” but she got “loose” instead of “lose.” According to Jessie, she is going to get this one covered, and after that, she doesn’t want to get any more tattoos ever.
